Dear Friends,

As of now, the situation we are facing with our ministry building has not been settled. While in the midst of dealing with this problem, I received telephone notification that A Woman’s Special Touch was being considered for a grant. I was to expect an email that would include questions for me to answer. Could this be an answer to prayer? My instincts immediately alerted me that this was a scam. I read the email and found that the grant had two requirements that would make us ineligible. Supposedly the grant was offered to a certain denomination and in certain locations. I replied that we did not qualify and no further contact would be needed. I received a further reply indicating that they had other grants that we were eligible for, and they would call me. In one of their emails, I noticed that they are located in another country. What are the chances of a grant coming from another country? Interestingly, I came across a newsletter I wrote in December 2015 about scams. Following is an excerpt.
“A letter came with words in the corner of the envelope normally used for a return address:

God said, “Delight yourself also in the Lord: and He shall give you the desires of your heart.” (Psalm 37:4) We feel someone connected to this address is facing three needs. God sees. It is no accident that you’re holding this help…

On the back of the envelope there were more enticing words. “Those who listen to instructions will prosper.” Proverbs 16:20 (NLT)
God is doing great things in answer to prayer. St. Matthew 18:19

These words were followed by this prayer:

Dear God,
We release this help to this dear one’s address, and as we pray over this Holy Spirit letter, we feel that someone connected to this address has three most pressing needs in their lives for which they need divine help. Lord, this help could be a sign from heaven to this person.

In Thy Holy Spirit, dear Lord, I feel that something good is trying to reach this dear one. We pray. Amen.

Inside I found a four-page letter, filled front and back with scriptures and testimonies from numerous people who have received large sums of money, or answered prayer, or healing. There was no way to verify if any of the stories were true.

It concluded with an invitation to write your three prayer needs and enclose a seed offering - after that, open the sealed prophecy. Someone who gets that far into it is hooked, and more letters will come requesting seed money.

In these times, we really need to know scripture and how to hear the voice of the Lord. Don’t rush into something without the full assurance that it is God’s will for you.

Jesus says in Matthew 24:24 “For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect.”

In Matthew 7:15 Jesus says, “Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves.”

2 Corinthians 11:13-15 has some important information for us - For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ.

And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.
Therefore it is not surprising if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their deeds.

Read also Matthew 4:1-11.

I have interviewed a number of people who have been caught in scams and others who were trapped in cults. It always ends up costing a lot of money. The more money a person invests, the more difficult it is to get out and the harder it is to admit they have been conned.”

With A Woman’s Special Touch in need of funds to address our building needs, how easy it would be to fall into the trap. These deceivers will often tell you to keep certain things secret. They may dangle the offer of large sums of money in front of you with a requirement that you send them money before the prize can be released. The offers will often come from telephone calls, either from overseas or from within the US. Remember it will always sound good. Watch for traps and pray at all times. Be strong in the Word.

As of now, things concerning the ministry building have not been settled. It could involve a lot of money, but we have a big God and He is in control. Please keep us in your prayers.
