Dear Friends, Recently, one of my sons texted me because our grandson had told him I had my pilot’s license, and he wanted to know if that was true. I replied that before his father and I married, I had 19 hours of flying time towards my license and I liked flying around in the sky. That exchange made me realize why I have been excited about our conference coming up October 10th, On Wings of Eagles. There might still be room for you to come if you call immediately. The incident also brought to mind one of the entries in my book What’s It All About? Let’s Fly In The Night Sky Let’s take a trip. We are going from the west to the east by way of the Milky Way. It will be a long trip, but it will not take us long. We will be landing on a beach in the Orient. The reason we are going via the Milky Way is to gain some knowledge of God. It says in Daniel 11:32, the people who know their God shall be strong and do great things. Knowledge of God will have an amazing effect upon our lives and actions. Knowledge of God gives us an understanding that He is in control of our circumstances. We can have the peace that passes all understanding as we grow in the knowledge of our Holy God. Nothing is happening that He is not aware of. The international scene isn’t bigger than God and neither is anything that is happening in our lives. He rules over all the kingdoms of the nations. Power and might are in His right hand and no one can stand against Him. So let’s begin our journey out beyond the solar system. Our sun is more than 750 times the size of all planets in our solar system combined. Jupiter is 800 times as large as the earth. Yet we are but a tiny part of the Milky Way, and the Milky Way is about 100,000 light-years across. A light year is the distance light travels in one year at the speed of 186,282 miles per second. If we could travel 186,282 miles in the time it takes us to snap our fingers, it would take us 30,000 years to reach the middle of the Milky Way, and 100,000 years to go from one end to the other. Yet the Milky Way only fills up a small part of our night sky. If we traveled across the vast Milky Way, God would be there. God is Omnipresent. He fills the universe in all its parts and is present everywhere at once. Colossians 1:16-17 says of Christ, For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities – all things have been created by Him and for Him. And He is before all things and in Him all things hold together. Yet, with all the vastness of the solar systems and power beyond our knowledge to comprehend, the very hairs on our head are numbered. God is omnipotent – all powerful. He has unlimited power. As a Christian, the God who is all powerful lives within you. God will give you the power you need for your situation at the moment, but He will not give you tomorrow’s power today. Thinking of God’s power being displayed in the universe, we might be surprised that in Habakkuk 3:4 it says that all the power demonstrated in our universe is but a hiding or veiling of God’s power. If we wanted to relate to an ant, we would nave to veil our power. If we stepped in his city, we would destroy everything. With a little finger we could crush an ant. We are so powerful by comparison that if we wanted to communicate anything at all it would be necessary to restrain our power – and so it is with God. He came in the form of a man. God has revealed Himself to us through his creation and through Jesus Christ. Do you realize God loves you as He loves Jesus? In John 17;23 Jesus says, “I in them, and Thou in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, that the world may know that Thou didst send Me and didst love them as Thou didst love Me.” God loves you and me as Himself and through His love to us He wants to reveal to the world that He sent Jesus Christ. If you have not yet grasped God’s wonderful creative ability on our trip through the solar system, maybe something more common will help you as we land on a beach in the east and take a look at the delightful variety of seashells. All are unique and very different – different shapes, different sizes and colors – but all shells. Each of us has been uniquely designed by God in magnificent variety, and He has given each of us different gifts and talents to share for His glory. ********* Praise and Prayer We are grateful for the opportunity to reach many people across the world.
