Dear Friends, Sitting in my prayer closet, seeking guidance from the Lord, I came upon 1 Corinthians 16:9 which says, for a wide door for effective service has opened to me, and there are many adversaries. That spoke to the situation I was praying about. We have been offered an opportunity to expand the ministry, but there are obstacles – one is finances, but there are many others. As more stations air the program, we become more of a target for the enemy, and I was already feeling battle fatigue. However, as I did a word search on “adversary,” new strength and joy flooded my soul. 1 Peter 5:7-9 casting all your anxiety upon Him, because He cares for you. Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls about like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. But resist him firm in your faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your brethren who are in the world. And after you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you. Exodus 23:22 “But if you will truly obey his voice and do all that I say, then I will be an enemy to your enemies and an adversary to your adversaries.” Psalm 27:1-3 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the defense of my life; whom shall I dread? When evildoers came upon me to devour my flesh, my adversaries and my enemies, they stumbled and fell. Though a host encamp against me, my heart will not fear; though war arise against me, in spite of this I shall be confident. James 4:7 Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Ephesians 6:10-19 Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of His might. Put on the full armor of God, that you may be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the full armor of God; that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. Stand firm therefore, HAVING GIRDED YOUR LOINS WITH TRUTH, AND HAVING PUT ON THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, and having shod YOUR FEET WITH THE PREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE; in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming missiles of the evil one. And take the HELMET OF SALVATION, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints, and pray on my behalf, that utterance may be given to me in the opening of my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel. As we prayed together recently, a friend, reminded me of Isaiah 40:31, which has always been one of my favorites. I added verses 29 and 30. Isaiah 40:29-31 He gives strength to the weary, and to him who lacks might He increases power. Though youths grow weary and tired, and vigorous young men stumble badly, yet those who wait for the Lord will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary. I hope these scriptures bless you as much as they did me. There are people all around us who are facing many trials and we need to be present to help and pray for them. It is through our own trials that we are able to comfort and strengthen others. So if you are going through difficult times, rest assured God will not waste any of it. Romans 8:28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.
