Dear Friends,

Recently, I prayed with a lady in Alabama who called the ministry office requesting programs that dealt with abuse. She had suffered verbal and physical abuse, had been sexually abused through incest, and she was living in poverty.  We sent her several testimonies from our program archives. Not only did I pray that God would surround her with His love and protection, but I also prayed that, through the power of Jesus, she would be able to forgive those who had abused her.

It takes Jesus’ power to forgive. It is also important to understand that forgiveness benefits the one forgiving.  Forgiveness does not mean that you can trust the person being forgiven, or that you will ever have the relationship you might have desired.  But, if you continue to hold on to hatred, you will be the one that is affected, not the one that did the abusing.  In order to be healed, you must forgive.  This does not mean forgetting all that happened. It means the abuse will no longer have the power to control you and cause the pain, heartache, anger, and depression that it once did.

If you are dealing with anything along this line, you may need to be honest with the Lord and tell Him you do not want to forgive the creep and that you will have to have His help to do so.

I know that in many cases of incest, if the child tells the mother, quite often the mother refuses to believe the child or goes into denial.  In that situation the child feels helpless and unloved.

Over the years, I have interviewed many guests who have come through terrible abuse and found healing, and their stories have brought hope and healing to others.  God does not waste anything in our lives.  If we hand Him our problems and our pain, He will tenderly take care of us, and He will graciously help others through us.  Romans 8:28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

Each person will have to answer to God individually.  If a person confesses his or her sins and repents, accepting Christ’s payment for their sins on the cross, they will be forgiven.  But if they do not, they will be cast into the lake of fire.  Salvation is a free gift, you can’t buy it or earn it, but you must accept it by repenting and believing in Christ as your Savior.

A Woman’s Special Touch received a letter from a man in Virginia who said he heard the radio program “Beauty for Ashes.” Here is some of what he wrote, “Your voice gave me needed hope in an hour of darkness.  I am currently chained in a so-called prison/jail only for an allotted time, till God says go fulfill the ministry you received.  . .  God’s word is being spread here – so indeed I count it joy even in chains.  Like Paul – bound or free I will speak the truth of Christ.  I am locked on what is called a cell-block and church is maybe once a week, not enough to fight the enemy.  The harvest is  plentiful here…”  He did not say why he was in prison/jail but he asked if we had any study material that we could send him, which we will try to do, although it is difficult to get material into prisons.

You may not be in an actual prison, but you can be a prisoner to your circumstances.

Isaiah 61: 1-3 is a prophecy about Jesus.
The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me,
Because the Lord has anointed me
To bring good news to the afflicted;
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to captives,
And freedom to prisoners;

To proclaim the favorable year of the Lord, And the day of vengeance of our God;
To comfort all who mourn,

To grant those who mourn in Zion,
Giving them beauty instead of ashes,
The oil of gladness instead of mourning,
The mantle of praise instead of a spirit of fainting.
So they will be called oaks of righteousness,
The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.

I share these stories to let you know that your prayers and financial support of this ministry is very important.  We can’t do it without you.  We are receiving more and more contacts and I need wisdom as I counsel people in very hurtful situations.  Thank you, and God bless you.

Praise and Prayer

  • Please pray for a speaking engagement I have on March 12th in Brentwood, CA.  I will giving a power-point presentation of The Shepherd and the Sheep.

  • Pray that the radio programs will encourage believers and lead the unsaved to Christ.  It is a joy to share these testimonies of how Jesus has changed individual lives.

  • Continue to pray for our financial needs.  All contributions are tax deductible, and all the proceeds go to help keep the radio ministry on the air.

In His bonds,
Norma Bonds
