I asked the Lord what He would have me write for the newsletter this month, and as always He has a way of “killing two birds with one stone.” He needed to teach me first what I was to share with you. I found myself in need of a refresher course in God’s lessons from 1999 when we started the radio ministry. At that time, my husband and I had made a move from the busy Bay Area to the country, which generated a great deal of work as in all moves. I confess that I selected this home that we bought - I saw all the potential and my husband saw all the work. We were both right. I was going in all directions. After much work renovating Dorcas, (the mobile unit which houses the radio ministry), I then had to learn to work all the equipment.

July 2011 prayer/newsletter

Dear Friends,

I’ve given the name Dorcas to the mobile unit which serves as headquarters for the radio ministry. Dorcas was shaking, dirt was falling from the ceiling, and loud noises were coming from above as two men tore off the old roof. It looked like a tornado had gone through, leaving behind a disaster of dirt and debris. Everything was out of place, the insulation and the ceiling panels had been removed, mold and wood rot were evident.

Dear Friends,

There are two false beliefs which are commonly held that must be examined.  One false belief is that all roads lead to heaven, and the other is that there is no Hell.  If we embrace either of these, we deny the Bible as the Word of God, and we have no compassion for the lost. A person has the right to choose the faith or religion he wishes, but that does not make all choices correct.  Freedom to choose does not absolve a person from the consequences of his choice no matter how sincere he might be.  The Bible says that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God, and that God is a Holy God who cannot look upon sin.  A person may have lived a good life by comparison to others, but our measuring stick is not the lives of other people  -  it is the life of Jesus.
